On April 2nd, Yan Mingxian, Structural and R&D Engineer at SoEasy (Xiamen) Technology Co., Ltd., returned to his alma mater—Chengyi University College of Jimei University—at the invitation of the university to deliver a keynote speech at the “Siyuan Alumni Forum.” Speaking to students from the Automation program, Yan shared insights on the latest trends in the photovoltaic (PV) industry, technological innovations, and his own career development journey.
As a 2015 graduate of the Automation program at Chengyi University College, Yan has spent years specializing in the 研究 and development of PV mounting systems. He is the lead developer of key products such as adjustable tripods and aluminum alloy hooks, and has co-developed innovative solutions including mechanical waterproof carports and vertical mounting systems. These achievements have been showcased at the Tokyo International Photovoltaic Expo in both 2024 and 2025, highlighting SoEasy’s strong capabilities in technological innovation.
Driving the Future of Solar Power Through Innovation
During the lecture, Yan focused on the evolving trends in PV mounting systems—particularly toward intelligent and lightweight design. Drawing on a decade of engineering experience, he provided students with an in-depth overview of the industry’s cutting-edge developments and career opportunities. Through real-world examples such as adjustable tripods and waterproof carports, he vividly explained the practical applications of PV technologies and emphasized the crucial role of university-enterprise collaboration in advancing innovation and talent development.
As an essential component of solar power stations, PV mounting systems directly impact structural safety, ease of installation, and overall return on investment. SoEasy utilizes high-durability aluminum alloys and magnesium-aluminum-zinc-coated steel to enhance the strength and longevity of its products. The company offers a diverse product range—including ground mounts, rooftop systems, carport mounts, and floating PV solutions—all certified by international standards such as TÜV, CE, and ISO, and widely used in markets around the world. Committed to innovation, SoEasy continually refines its structural engineering designs to reduce costs, improve installation efficiency, and enhance resistance to wind and snow loads—ultimately maximizing the profitability of solar power projects.
Yan also offered tailored career advice to students, stressing the importance of solid foundations in mechanical design and engineering analysis for securing future employment. His insights aimed to help students align their skillsets with industry needs, build a dual competency in “technology + application,” and lay a solid foundation for successful careers in the PV sector.

Fostering Industry Talent Through University-Enterprise Cooperation
